Morgan Completes Season Sweep?of?Rival Coppin State on Senior Night, 65-56
BALTIMORE- Corin Adams, scored 16 of her game-high 20 points in the first half and fellow senior Kristina Rosario pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds to go with six points, as Morgan State defeated crosstown rival Coppin State, 65-56 in the MEAC season finale on Thursday night.
Theresa Davis came off the bench due to senior night and chipped in with 13 points to help the Lady Bears close out the regular season with a 9-1 home mark. Adams, who entered the contest with 535 points this season, finished the regular season with 555, setting the single season scoring record, which she set last season with 547 points.

Coppin State (10-18, 5-11 MEAC) was led by Jeanine Manley, who recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Crystal Whittington came off the bench and scored 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting for the Eagles, who were swept by Morgan State for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.

FAMU Women Hold Off Lady Wildcats, 81-71
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Mar. 4) - A late closing flurry by Florida A&M staved off a torrid second half charge by Bethune-Cookman, giving them an 81-71 victory in the final regular season game for both schools.
The Lady Rattlers were led by Tameka McKelton with a game-high 28 points. Antonia Bennett finished with a double-double, scoring 15 points and hauling down 11 rebounds, followed by LaShonda Gaines with 14 points. Qiana Donald also had 11 rebounds for FAMU, which owned a slight edge, 49-47, on the boards.
B-CU got 19 points and 11 rebounds from Demetria Frank, 16 points from Sarah Bolden and 12 points from Jalisa Isaac.

Second Half Drought Dooms Lady Hornets
Dover, Del. (Mar. 4, 2010) --- A six-minute second half scoring drought was Delaware State's undoing in a 58-55 MEAC women's basketball loss to Maryland Eastern Shore in the regular season finale for both teams in Memorial Hall Thursday evening.
The Lady Hornets close out the regular season with a 6-23 overall record and a 4-12 mark in the MEAC. UMES improved to 11-15 and 8-8.
Maryland-Eastern Shore pulled ahead for good, 50-48, on a lay up Chena Parker with 5:18 remaining in the game. The Hawks opened up a 57-50 lead on two free throws by Parker with 1:13 left.
Amber Cook and April McBride led UMES with 14 points each, while Parker added 10.
Selena Galloway led the Lady Hornets with a game-high 18.

Hot Shooting Lady Rams Not Enough in 58-47 Loss at South Carolina State
ORANGEBURG, SC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (2-28) took a 58-47 loss at South Carolina State (11-18), Thursday evening. Offensively, the Lady Rams had a solid night shooting just under 40% from the field, but the Lady Rams couldn't stop the Lady Bulldogs who did one better over the Lady Rams shooting 53% from the field in the game.
The quartet of junior forward Vontisha Woods, junior guard MaLisa Bumpus, junior guard Rene Rector, and freshman forward Shawanda Hanton all scored 10 points each in the game.

Spartans n Fall 79-59 at North Carolina A&T
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Amber Calvin scored a game-high 17 points and Ta'Wuana Cook added 13 as North Carolina A&T defeated Norfolk State 79-59 on Thursday night at the Corbett Sports Center.
North Carolina A&T led by as many as 27, 73-46, in the second half. A jumper by Tyisha Bridges with 34 seconds left ended the scoring for the game.
Both teams shot evenly from the floor, but the difference was A&T's performance at the free-throw line. The Lady Aggies shot 42.2 percent (27-of-64) compared to the Spartans' 43.4 percent (23-of-53). A&T hit 20 of their 23 free throws, while NSU went 11-of-15 from the line.
For NSU, Bridges had a team-high 12 points and Genor Dalton added 10 points.
