Eight UMES Bowlers Named To NCBCA Academic All-America Team

Eight members of the Maryland Eastern Shore women's bowling team have been National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) Academic All-Americans, the organization announced.

Juniors Kristina Frahm, Martha Perez and Katherine Brown, sophomore Stacy Parsons, and freshmen T'Nia Falbo, Anggie Ramirez, Katie Shumaker and redshirt freshman Kaitlyn Young were all presented with the honor earlier this month when UMES bowled in the USBC ITC Sectional in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The Lady Hawks have a rich tradition of academic success. Last season, the team won the UMES award for highest grade point average among women's teams as well as overall at the school.

Brown, Frahm, Perez and Young also earned National Tenpins Coaches Association Academic All-American status a season ago while Brown, Frahm and Perez were among the returnees named to the MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team.

The NCAA selection show for the women's bowling championship is slated for 4 p.m. Wednesday and can be viewed live on www/NCAA.com.
