The championship match saw both teams go back and forth in Baker play. Tied at three games, the Lady Hawks topped DSU 206-205 to force another match in the double-elimination bracket.
It was more of the same in the second match. Both teams battled back and forth throughout the match trading games. Tied at two-all, Delaware State won the fifth game 200-179 but the Lady Hawks of Maryland Eastern Shore came back to win the sixth game 224-197 and force a seventh and deciding game.

Delaware State Head Coach Ricki Williams-Ellison who was named Outstanding Coach, was thrilled with the win. "We didn't expect anything less than seven games because Maryland Eastern Shore is a great team and they know how to win", said Williams-Ellison. "My girls dug deep and went hard. We have a great team and they came together and battled as a team."
DSU's Angela Reynolds earned Outstanding Performer accolades. The junior tallied 764 pinfall in team games and anchored her team in the victory. "We knew we were facing a tough UMES team and that they had to beat us twice, explained Reynolds." "I rallied the team and let them know that we had been in this position before and we approached the game like it was any other match-not just a championship match."
Joining Reynolds on the All-Tournament Team are teammates Brooke Peterson and Adriana Jaime. Florida A&M's Samantha Mighty and South Carolina State's Stephanie Sinclair completed the team.
