South Carolina State Upsets Morgan State, 71-68
BALTIMORE- South Carolina State's Jason Flagler was knocking down shot after shot while Morgan State fans watched as the Bears fell at home for the first time in nearly a year.
Jason Flagler scored a game-high 24 points and the Bulldogs shot a blistering 57.1 percent from the field to help drop the Bears 71-68 at Hill Field House on Monday night in an ESPNU televised game. The loss stopped Morgan State's 10-game winning streak, and halted the Bears' 12-game regular season conference win streak.
It was also Morgan State's first home loss since Feb. 23, 2009 when the Bears dropped a 49-47 decision at Hampton.
Darnell Porter hit a free throw that gave the Bulldogs their largest lead of the game at 64-52 with 6:39 to left to go. But Morgan State put together one final run and almost sent the game into overtime when a pair of 3-point shots missed in the final seconds.
Reggie Holmes, who entered the game ranked among the nation's leaders in scoring (22.9 ppg), fouled out in the final minute of the ballgame with 17 points, but the Bears still got to within 70-68 on a runner by Joe Davis with 21 seconds left.
Both teams missed free throws in the final minute.
Kevin Thompson collected his 16th double-double of the season by finishing with 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Sean Thomas and DeWayne Jackson added eight points apiece.

Guard Play Shines As Hawks Defeat Bethune-Cookman, 62-56
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Junior Kevin White needed five assists to break Jesse Brooks' single season assist record for Maryland Eastern Shore and he recorded seven in the Hawks' 62-56 win over Bethune-Cookman Monday night in front of 2,479 at the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center.
Brooks' record of 142 assists was accomplished in the 2005-06 campaign and White had 138 coming into tonight's contest. White also scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds while registering two steals.
Junior Josh Bright led the Hawks in scoring with 12 points, including 3-of-6 from behind the arc and also had five rebounds and four assists. Redshirt sophomore Hillary Haley also scored in double-digits with 10 points while senior Neal Pitt led the game with seven rebounds.
BCU's Reed led the game in scoring with 19 points while Alexander Starling had 14 for the Wildcats.

Hornets Hold Off Rattlers, 66-63
Dover, Del.- Frisco Sandidge led three Delaware State players in double figures with 16 points in the Hornets' 66-63 MEAC win over Florida A&M in Memorial Hall Monday evening.
The Hornets won their third straight game to improve to 14-9 overall and 9-3 in the MEAC. DSU is in second place in the league standings, trailing first place Morgan State by two games. The Hornets will host Morgan State this Wednesday (7:00 p.m.).
Florida A&M fell to 6-19 overall and 3-9 in the MEAC.
Marcus Neal had 14 points for Delaware State. His performance included four three-point field goals. Marques Oliver came off the bench to add 12 for the Hornets.
Florida A&M's Dale Hughes had a game-high 24 points. He was 5-for-6 from3-point territory.

Rams Lead Wire-To-Wire; Cruise To 70-60 Road Victory Over Coppin State
BALTIMORE-Winston-Salem State overcame nearly all manner of adversity on Monday evening in a 70-60 victory over the Eagles of Coppin State from the CSU Physical Education Complex in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Rams would lead by as many as 17 points in the first half as a smothering WSSU defense that held the Eagles to only 31.5 percent shooting in the contest complimented an effective WSSU offense that scored 28 points in the paint and received 27 points of scoring from the bench in the victory.
The Rams were led by Shelton Carter who scored a game-high 18 points in the victory and added seven rebounds as he led four WSSU players in double figures.
Joining Carter in double-digit scoring, Paul Davis and Andrew Jackson each tallied 12 points and Marcus Wells added 11 points in the win. Davis added nine rebounds while Wells added five boards and Jackson recorded four rebounds.
The win, the Rams' 10th of the season improves WSSU to 10-14 overall and moves the Rams to 6-7 versus MEAC opponents. CSU falls to 7-17 on the season with the loss.

Pirates Drop Tough One To Aggies
HAMPTON, Va. - Despite leading at the half, the Hampton fell to the Aggies of North Carolina A&T on Monday night 69-65 at the HU Convocation Center.
It was the second straight loss for the Pirates, who cut North Carolina A&T's lead to three, 68-65, on a Darrion Pellum layup with seven seconds remaining. Dwane Joshua responded with five seconds to play by sinking one of two free throws to push the game to its final margin.
Pellum led four Pirates in double figures with 18 points on 7-for-15 shooting, while Michael Freeman added 12 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds. Vincent Simpson and Kwame Morgan II each added 11 points for the Pirates, who shot 42.9 percent (24-for-56) from the floor.
Robert Johnson led the Aggies with 13 points, while Tavarus Alston, Joshua and Thomas Coleman each had 11 points. Coleman also pulled down 11 rebounds.

Pauline Leads Balanced Attack In Win Over Howard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Aleek Pauline scored a game-high 20 points to lead four players in double figures as Norfolk State defeated Howard, 72-52 in a MEAC game at Burr Gymnasium. The win avenged an 82-77 loss to the Bison on January 18 in Norfolk, VA.
The Bison (7-17 overall, 6-6 in the MEAC) kept the game close through the first 11 minutes. Then Norfolk State (7-20 overall, 6-6 in the MEAC) embarked on a 9-0 run that opened a 24-15 lead at the 6:55 mark. The Spartans would go on to expand its lead to 37-24 at intermission.
Norfolk State led by as many as 31 points before the Bison were able to reduce the deficit to make the final score more respectable.
Pauline connected on 7-of-11 from the field and collected 6 rebounds while Deloach (16 points, 7 rebounds), Hampton (11 points, 6 rebounds) and O'Quinn (14 points, 5 rebounds) rounded out the balanced attack.
Howard got a team-high 11 points from freshman Dadrian Collins, who was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season, and junior forward Adam Walker, who contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds. Calvin Thompson and Curtis added 8 points each in a losing effort.
