VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., February 1, 2010 - Morgan State's Reggie Holmes was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Teammate DeWayne Jackson, also of Morgan State, earned the Rookie of the Week accolade while Michael Freeman of Hampton was named the Defensive Player of the Week respectively.
Holmes (G, 6-4, 180, Sr., Baltimore, Md.) led the Bears to a pair of MEAC wins over Maryland E. Shore and Norfolk State last week. Against the Hawks, Holmes recorded 25 points and grabbed down eight rebounds, stole two passes and dished out one assist. He also posted 19 points with eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in an overtime thriller against Norfolk State.
Jackson (F, 6-8, 210, Fr., Bowie, Md.) averaged 14 points and 4.5 rebounds in two conference victories for the conference leading Bears. Jackson scored 18 points against the NSU Spartans, shooting 60-percent from the field, including 2-of-5 from 3-point range. He also pulled down seven boards, and recorded one block, one assist and one steal in the victory.
Freeman (F, 6-8, 220, Sr., Alexandria, Va.) posted back-to-back double-double performances with 17 points and 10 boards against Florida A&M and 13 points and 10 rebounds against Delaware State to aid the Pirates with a 1-1 mark last week. He also averaged 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals last week.

Tavarus Alston (NCAT) averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals as the Aggies posted a 1-1 mark last week.
Michael Deloach (NSU) averaged 28.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in two loses for the Spartans last week. He passed the 1,500 career point mark against S.C. State.
Jason Flagler (SCSU) posted a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds in a 97-82 win over Norfolk State.
Hillary Haley (UMES) recorded a career best 33 points, shooting 11-of-17 from the field, in the Hawks win over Howard.
Kyle O'Quinn (NSU) averaged 24.5 points, 8.5 rebounds in two games and recorded a career high 32 points and 11 rebounds against South Carolina State.
Neal Pitt (UMES) recorded his third double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds against Morgan State.
Nic Simpson (NCAT) averaged 11.5 points and 4.5 steals in two games last week for the Aggies.
Kevin Thompson (MSU) collected his 13th double-double of the season with 21 points and 14 rebounds against the Spartans.
Curtis White (How) scored a team-best 17 points with four assists, three rebounds and two steals in a loss to Maryland E. Shore.
