Lady Rattlers Pull Out 3-2 Win Over Jacksonville

Florida A&M pulled out a 3-2 (23-25, 25-23, 27-25, 19-25 15-13) wins over Jacksonville, Saturday afternoon at the Lawson Center.

FAMU (9-13) tallied a season high 68 kills, while JU (14-15) finished with 54.

The Lady Rattlers had a trio of players to finish in double digit kill as Katherine Huanec finished with a team high 19 kills.  Pamela Barerra added 12 kills, while Ashley Johnson tallied 10.   Diana Gonzalez led the team in assists with 43; while Susan Egoavil finished with a career high 36 digs. 

JU won the first set 25-23 on a Brittany Lehman kill.

FAMU won the second set at they scored the last three points of the set on a kills Maria Ceccareli, and two attack errors by JU, giving the Lady Rattlers a 25-23 win.

The Lady Rattlers won the third set 27-25, but would drop the fourth set 25-19.

In the fifth and deciding set, FAMU opened up with a 5-1 lead, capped off by a JU attack error. 

The Dolphins would tie the set at 12-12 on a kill Drzewwiecki.   JU would then tie the set again at 13-13 on Robertson kill.

FAMU would then win the set and the match 15-13 on a kill by Barerra and JU attack error.

Alyssa Robertson led the Dolphins in kills with 24.  Alliya Drzewiecki garnered 18 kills, while Alison Loeppy finished 10.  Kendall Courtney finished the game with a game high 58 assists, while Ashley August tallied 36 digs.

The Lady Rattlers will return to action on Sunday, November 7 as they will host arch rival Bethune-Cookman, broadcast live on ESPNU  at 1 p.m.
