SC State Falls to Clemson in Women's Basketball
Clemson, SC-SC State fell to Clemson, 44-66, in a non-conference women's basketball match-up in Littlejohn Coliseum on the campus of Clemson University. The matchup with the Tigers marks the second ACC opponent of the season for the Lady Bulldogs.
Senior Whitney Wiley put out her third double-digit point performance of the season as she led SC State with 11 points. Tracey Flowers and Cherisha Floyd dropped in six points each while Trinese Fox pulled in a team-high eight rebounds as the Lady Bulldogs dropped to 1-3 on the season.
The Tigers were led in scoring by Sthefany Thomas who dropped in a game-high 18 points. Shaniqua Pauldo added 11 and Kirstyn Wright scored 10 as Clemson improved to 5-1. Kelia Shelton pulled in a game-high 13 rebounds for the Tigers.

Strong Second Half Carries St. Francis Past Coppin State
LORETTO, Pa. -- Samantha Leach scored 16 of her game-high 20 points in the second half and St. Francis (Pa.) overcame a five-point halftime deficit on its way to a 77-67 non-conference victory over Coppin State on Sunday at the DeGol Arena.
The Red Flash hit on 6-of-14 three-point attempts in the second half, including 4-of-6 from Leach, to overcome a 35-30 deficit at halftime
St. Francis (2-4) also received 15 points and 11 rebounds from Shene Fleming. Brittany Lilley had 14 points and Allison Daly scored 12 points.
Freshman Kyra Coleman led Coppin State with 16 points, while Leola Spotwood had 11 points and nine rebounds. Jeanine Manley and Larissa Carter each had 10 points for the Eagles.
The Eagles (1-3) outshot and outrebounded the Red Flash, but committed 26 turnovers and were outscored 10-3 from the three-point line.

Second-half Surge Launches Lehigh Past Howard
STORRS, CT -Howard dropped its fourth-straight at the World Vision Challenge hosted by UConn. The Lady Bison fell to Lehigh 56-26. With the loss, HU drops to 2-6 overall.
In the first half, HU struck first with a Portia Deterville layup. Deterville scored six of the Lady Bison's first eight points of the game. She finished with eight points on 4-for-4 shooting.
Howard led throughout the period until a jumper by Sarah Pearce gave Lehigh a 13-11 advantage that it would never relinquish. The Lady Bison trailed 19-16 after the first 20 minutes.
In the second stint, Lehigh pushed the spread to double-digits, 26-16, within the first three-plus minutes of the half. Lehigh kept its comfortable cushion for the remainder of the game.
HU struggled from the floor as they only converted 11-of-45 for a 24.4 shooting clip. Cheyenne Curley-Payne chipped in with six points and three steals. Deterville pulled down a team-high six off the glass to go with her eight points. HU was edged 42-36 on the boards, however.

Nwachukwu's Double-Double Not Enough Versus Long Beach State
Lady Eagles Outscore 49ers in Second Half, Score Season-High 61 Points
HONOLULU, Hawaii-North Carolina Central University got a double-double performance from senior Jori Nwachukwu, scored a season-high 61 points and outscored Long Beach State in the second half, but all of that was still not enough. The 49ers jumped out to a 19-point halftime lead and held off NCCU for a 78-61 victory at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sunday.
Nwachukwu amassed 19 points and 14 rebounds for her second double-double of the season to lead NCCU (1-4). Freshman Alesha Jenkins came off the bench for a season-high nine points, while sophomore Chasidy Williams recorded eight points, seven boards and a game-high four steals for the Lady Eagles. Rookies Tenika Neely and Justyne Sublett added six points each in the setback.
Long Beach State (1-6) recorded its first victory with three 49ers scoring in double figures. Courtney Jacob led the way with a game-high 22 points to go along with seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocked shots. Freshmen Janae Coffee and Brandi Henton contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.
