NORFOLK, Va., November 29, 2010 - Hampton's Darrion Pellum was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Casey Walker of Delaware State was named Rookie of the Week while Norfolk State's Kyle O'Quinn earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Pellum (G, 6-6, 205, Jr., Hampton, Va.) averaged 23.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.7 steals to lead the Hampton Pirates to a 3-0 finish last week in non-conference wins over Boston University, George Washington Univ. and High Point University. Pellum's week was highlighted by a 33 point performance against High Point including 19-of-23 free-throws, seven rebounds, four assists and one steal. He also recorded 19 points in the Pirates' one-point victory over Boston and 19 points against George Washington.
Walker (F, 6-4, 180, Fr., Broadnax, Va.) recorded back-to-back double digit scoring performances to aid the Hornets to a 1-1 mark last week. Against Maryland, the 6-4 rookie from Broadnax, Virginia recorded 11 points, three rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals. He followed that performance with 16 points, including 3-of-5 from behind the arc, and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line in a 103-41 victory over Philadelphia Bible College.
O'Quinn (F/C, 6-10, 240, Jr., Jamaica, N.Y.) averaged a double-double last week with 13.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in two games for the NSU Spartans. Against Fairfield O'Quinn grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, blocked three shots and stole two passes. He also hauled down nine boards with four blocked shot against Rutgers.

Louis Bell (UMES) posted a double-double of 16 points and 12 assists in the Hawks' overtime victory over Navy.
Yannick Crowder (FAMU) collected a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds in the Rattlers' loss to Mount St. Mary's.
Anton Dickerson (HOW) finished with 24 points and six rebounds while connecting on 6-of-10 3-point baskets in a loss to Oregon State.
Hillary Haley (UMES) recorded his first career double-double with 32 points and 10 rebounds in a overtime victory over Navy.
Rasheem Jenkins (FAMU) posted back-to-back double digit scoring performances with 14 points against Dayton and 11 points against Mount St. Mary's.
Obame Obame (UMES) recorded a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds, with 8-of-11 free-throws, in the Hawks six-point defeat to Northern Illinois.
CJ Reed (B-CU) averaged 19.6 points, four rebounds, 2.3 assist and 2.3 steals in three non-conference games last week for the Wildcats.
Desi Washington (DSU) scored a game-high 32 total points, including 8-of-15 from long range, to lead the Hornets to a 1-1 mark last week.
