Lady Hornets Get First Win In OT Thriller

Freshmen Deanna Harmon scored eight points in overtime and Tasia Bristow tallied six in the extra frame to lead Delaware State to an 82-74 women's basketball victory over New Jersey Tech at the Fleisher Center.

The Lady Hornets won for the first time this season to improve to 1-2, while the Highlanders fell to 0-4.

Bristow led four Delaware State players in double figures with a career-high 16 points. She was 2-for-2 from three-point territory and 6-of-6 at the free throw line.

Harmon added 14 points, while Brittany Washington (11) and Kianna D'Olveira (10) also reached double figures for the Lady Hornets. Washington also led all players with 10 rebounds.

New Jersey Tech's Jessica Gerald led all players with 22 points. Her performance included four three-pointers (4-for-5).

Delaware State's point total was its highest since an 84-26 win over Lincoln (Pa.) on Nov. 12, 2009.
