Norfolk State sophomore Charlotte Armstead was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. South Carolina State's Desire Waller earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Armstead (6-0, So., OH, Williamsburg, Va.) hit 38-percent from the floor with 50 kills and seven digs to aid the Spartans to a 2-1 mark last week. The outside hitter added five aces, five blocks and two assists in the wins.
Waller (6-0, Fr., MH, Houston, Texas) tallied 30 kills and 12 digs in three matches for the Lady Bulldogs. In a win over Texas Southern, Waller hit 42-percent from the floor with nine kills on 19 attacks. During the three match span, she added seven blocks and two assists.

Pamela Barrera (FAMU) hit 44-percent from the floor with 12 kills and four digs in a 3-1 win over Norfolk State.
Jessica Coucher (DSU) posted 12 kills, four blocks and two digs in a 3-1 victory over Howard.
Katherine Huanec (FAMU) recorded 13 kills and five digs against Norfolk State.
Jennifer Jimenez (B-CU) totaled 28 digs and six aces in two matches for B-CU.
Kaiyana Johnson (B-CU) tallied 24 kills while hitting 41-percent from the floor in two matches for the Lady Wildcats.
Arielle Knafel (NSU) recorded 25 digs in three matches for the Spartans last week.
Shabree Roberson (SCSU) hit a season high 67-percent from the floor in a non-conference win against Texas Southern.
Sarah Wheatcroft (DSU) recorded a triple-double of 17 assists, 14 digs and 12 kills in a 3-2 win over North Carolina Central.
