Florida A&M sophomore Pamela Barrera and Norfolk State junior Nicole Kessner were named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Volleyball Co-Players of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Maryland Eastern Shore's Maline Vaitai earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

Barrera (6-1, So., MB, Lima, Peru) hit 52-percent from the floor (19-of-29) in two Lady Rattler wins.  She added eight digs, eight blocks, and three aces in the wins.  

Kessner (5-8, Jr., S, Blacksburg, Va.) recorded a triple-double with 26 assists, 13 kills and 10 digs in a 3-2 loss to South Carolina State. In a win over Savannah State, she posted 18 assists and seven digs. For the week, the setter hit 46-percent from the floor and added one block and one ace.

Vaitai (6-0, Fr., OH, Salt Lake City, Utah) hit 30-percent from the floor and tallied 44 kills, 20 digs, three assists and three blocks. In a 3-2 loss to Delaware State, she posted a career-high 26 kills. She followed that performance with her eighth double-double of the season in a win over Hampton.

Haley Beechler (CSU) set a school record with 48 assists in a win over Hampton.

Jessica Coucher (DSU) posted 27 kills, four digs and one ace to aid the Lady Hornets to a 1-1 mark last week.

Noelle Eagles (NSU) tallied 31 digs to help the Spartans to a 1-1 mark last week.

Tosin Elebute (Howard) totaled 39 kills, 11 digs and six assists in two conference victories for the Lady Bison.

Jarne Gleaton (SCSU) recorded a double-double with 18 kills and 12 digs against Norfolk State.

Katherine Huanec (FAMU) totaled 22 kills, seven digs and one service ace in two victories for the Lady Rattlers.

Kaveinga Lea'Aetoa (UMES) hit 39-percent from the floor with 18 kills, four blocks and two digs against Hampton.

Ashley Saunders (CSU) led the Lady Eagles to two conference wins with 35 kills, 12 digs and 10 aces.

Erica Tajchman (DSU) recorded 31 kills and 17 digs in two matches for the Lady Hornets.

Jessica Wilson (BCU) aided her team to a 1-1 mark last week with 15 kills and 11 digs.
