Ashley Saunders were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Volleyball Players of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. UMES'
Maline Vaitai earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Bowens (5-10, Jr., OH, Long Beach, California) guided her team to a 3-0 mark as hosts of the Peaky's North/South UMES Invite. Bowens earned MVP honors after hitting 42-percent from the floor (35-of-71) and totaling nine digs, eight aces and one assist.
Saunders (5-10, OH, Jr., Arlington, Texas) earned all tournament honors at the Peaky's North /South UMES Invite. Saunders aided her team to a 2-1 mark with 40 kills, 30 digs, six blocks and three aces.
Vaitai (6-0, Fr., OH, Salt Lake City, Utah) totaled 25 kills and 19 digs during three matches for the Lady Hawks last weekend. She added five assists, three aces and 1.5 blocks in the victories.

Alexis Bliese (B-CU) tallied a double-double of 27 kills and 10 digs in a loss to Presbyterian.
Jarne Gleaton (SCSU) posted eight kills and nine digs in a loss to Georgia Southern.
Kaiyana Johnson (B-CU) hit 62-percent from the floor (11-of-16) and added 3.5 blocks and two digs in a loss to Presbyterian.
Nicole Kessner (NSU) totaled 46 assists, 17 kills and 12 digs in two losses for the Spartans.
Arielle Knafel (NSU) recorded eight digs, four blocks and three assists last week for the Spartans.
