Vaitai, Bowens Pace Hawks' Eighth Straight Win
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Freshman Maline Vaitai and junior Zoe Bowens recorded 15 and 13 kills, respectively as Maryland Eastern Shore stretched its winning stretch to eight with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-21) sweep of Hampton in front of 3,129 at the William P. Hytche Athletic Center Friday.
With the win, the Hawks improved to 14-9 (3-0 MEAC) and won their 12 consecutive match at home to kickoff Hawk Hysteria festivities. Hampton fell to 5-18 (1-2) on the season.
Vaitai added four digs and Bowens four aces for UMES, which tallied nine aces for the game. The Hawks also out hit the Lady Pirates, .284-.208, on the night. UMES had 42 kills and 15 errors in 95 attacks while Hampton countered with 30 kills, 14 errors and 77 errors.
Aaryn Harrison had 10 kills for the Lady Pirates and Ivana Saput added a match-high 11 digs.

Bethune-Cookman Tops North Carolina A&T, 3-0
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - B-CU swept the Lady Aggies of North Carolina A&T in straight sets of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-9.
As a team, B-CU hit .232, with 38 kills and defended extremely well against NCA&T, holding them to 21 total kills and a 0.000 hitting percentage.
B-CU spread the ball around well, as five players finished with five or more kills, led by Jessica Wilson with nine kills on a .227 hitting percentage.
Kaiyana Johnson also came up with seven kills of her own, while Linda Nwabuko finished with a .417 hitting percentage on five kills and no errors. Johnson and Rodriguez came produced two aces each in the win. T
he setting was spread out, as Alexis Bliese finished with 14 assists and Rodriguez collected 13. Jacqueline Woodyear tallied 14 digs at the libero spot, but received solid support from Janeen Davis, who finished with eight.

Morgan State Drops Coppin State in Four Sets
BALTIMORE -- Ashley Saunders recorded a double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs, but Morgan State handed Coppin State a 29-27, 25-18, 23-25, 25-16 MEAC loss on Friday at the Physical Education Complex.
Saunders notched her fifth double-double of the season and also added an assist and a service ace to lead the Eagles.
Vanity Massey had eight kills and 13 digs and Haley Beechler had 12 digs and 37 assists for Coppin State.
Erin Cox had 16 kills and 14 digs to pace Morgan State, while Dominique Bozier had 11 kills and five blocks. Jourdan Lemons added 43 assists, 12 digs and seven kills.
The Bears (4-14, 2-1 MEAC) outhit the Eagles .192 to .096 and had more digs than the Eagles (73-60).
After dropping the first two sets Coppin State (3-16, 0-3 MEAC) rallied to force a fourth set with a 25-23 win, but Morgan State won the fourth set to clinch the victory.
