Norfolk State shook off some early cobwebs and never looked back in defeating Savannah State, 3-0, Monday evening at Joseph Echols Hall for the team's second win in a row.
A slow start to the first set for NSU quickly turned around into a 25-10 win for the Spartans, as NSU went on to take the next two sets, 25-13, 25-20.
The win, NSU's second in a row, improved the team's record to 7-14 on the season, while Savannah State saw its record fall to 2-18 with their 10th-straight loss.
The Spartans were led by sophomore Ellica Morris, who totaled a match-high 13 kills, as many as the Tigers had as a team for the entire match. Freshman Arielle Knafel and sophomore Charlotte Armstead added eight kills each, while redshirt sophomore Paige Gary-Canty and freshman Noelle Eagles totaled 14 and 13 digs, respectively.
