Lady Rams Open Fred Underwood Lady Bulldogs Classic with a Pair of Wins

LAUREL, MD - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (3-32) had a great day at the 2010 Fred Underwood Lady Bulldogs Classic, posting a 2-3 record in team match play. As a team, the Lady Rams totaled 3,419 total pins at the event and posted wins over Penn State-Altoona and the Coppin State Lady Eagles.

It was the WSSU upperclassmen who led the way for the team as the team posted multiple wins for the first time this season. It was senior Keisha Morrison who led the attack for the Lady Rams with a team-best 757 total pins on the day. Fellow junior Christina McDowell had the team high game for the day, leading the Lady Rams to a 700-683 win over Coppin State. It was Morrison who led the Lady Rams to their 682-666 win over Penn State-Altoona.

The Lady Rams had a solid effort against North Carolina Central, but came up short in the 791-691 loss. However, the team was outgunned in an 800-682 loss to Norfolk State and faded late in a 900-664 loss to #2 Maryland Eastern Shore.
