Men's Cross Country 9/5/2009 12:45:00 PM MEAC Media Relations David, Mutai Place 1st and 2nd; Bears Take 2nd at Baltimore Metro Meet Morgan State men's cross country team began the 2009 season by making history, as freshmen Justus David and Daniel Kipkorir Mutai, placed first and second, respectively at the annual Baltimore Metro Meet on Friday afternoon hosted by Towson at Oregon Ridge Park.Morgan State's history making day didn't end there. Behind David's winning time of 16:05.04 and Mutai's second-place mark of 16:07.11, the Bears finished second overall with 58 points, the program's highestfinish ever in cross country.Johns Hopkins, who earned the team title with 26 points, had four runners finish in the top six. Loyola (71 points) took third and McDaniel (80 points) claimed fourth to round out the scoring.Morgan State returns to action next Saturday, Sept. 12, when they travel to Annapolis, Md. to compete in the Navy Invitational at 10 a.m.
