Arkansas' Kelli Stipanovich had a match-high 11 kills and hit .409 to lead her team to a 3-0 (25-8, 25-11,25-17) win over Norfolk State on Friday afternoon at Cassell Coliseum in the Virginia Tech Tournament.
The Razorbacks opened the first set on a 13-2 run and outscored the Spartans (2-3) 12-6 the rest of the set.
It was much of the same in the final two sets. The Spartan offense got going in the third set and they kept it close early, but Arkansas opened up a lead that NSU was unable to overcome.
Elayne Greer led NSU with seven kills and Nicole Kessner had a team-high 13 assists.
NSU takes on host VT at noon on Saturday and play East Carolina at 4 p.m.
