Norfolk State sophomores Philemon Kimutai and Aurora Scott were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Cross Country Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Kimutai (So., Eldoret, Kenya) ran a time of 25:00.10 at the University of Virginia Lou Onesty Invitational. His second place finish on the 8K course aided the Spartans to a second place mark out of four competing teams.
Scott (So., Portsmouth, Virginia) led the Spartans to a fourth place finish at the University of Virginia Lou Onesty Invitational. The sophomore paced NSU women's team and finished in sixth place with a time of 18:49.30.

Jasmin Branch (Ham) guided the Lady Pirates to a fourth place finish in 19:35.90 at the UMES Cappy Anderson Invitational.
David Kimani (Ham) paced the Pirates with a time of 27:25.32 at the UMES Cappy Anderson Invitational.
Ashlee Nievess (MSU) ran a time of 20:17.11 at the UMES Cappy Anderson Invitational.
Daniel Kipkorir Mutai (MSU) finished sixth on the 8K course at the UMES Cappy Anderson Invitational with a time of 25:37.56.
DaShera Richardson (DSU) completed the 5K course at the Delaware Invitational with a time of 19:57.66.
Peter Sang (UMES) guided his team to a eighth place finish with a time of 26:20.67 at the UMES Cappy Anderson Invitational.
Brittney Stewart (SCSU) finished in third with a time of 19:04.84 at the Coastal Carolina Invitational.
Kelli Thibou (DSU) was the Hornets top finisher with a time of 27:37.26 at the Delaware Invitational.
Celia Whyte (UMES) paced the Lady Hawks with a time of 20:04.04 at the UMES Cappy Anderson Invitational.
