Scott Leads NSU at Lou Onesty Invitational

Norfolk State sophomore Aurora Scott finished sixth overall in 18:49.30 to help the NSU women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the University of Virginia's Lou Onesty Invitational on Saturday.

Lauretta Dezubay of UVA won the individual title after finishing the 5K course in 17:42.50. The Cavaliers scored 19 points to take the team title and were followed by UNC-Greensboro (67), George Mason (68) and NSU (98).

Senior Tia Miles was the Spartans' second finisher. She came in 21st with a time of 21:03.70. Candace Shoates(29th, 23:16.20), Syeeda Gee (32nd, 23:29.70) and Chynell Gray (34th, 25:25.40) rounded out the Spartans' top five.

The Spartans compete in the William & Mary Inter-Regional Challenge next Saturday.
