DSU Women Tie for Third at Towson Invite

Delaware State women's cross country team ran to a tie for third place (out of eight teams) at the 2009 Towson Invitational at Oregon Ridge Park near Baltimore on Saturday.

The Lady Hornets and Maryland Eastern Shore each collected 105 points, trailing only first-place Towson (15) and runner-up Salisbury (69).


Freshman Deshera Richardson was Delaware State's top performer for the second straight week, finishing eighth in the field of 65 with a time of 20:36.53.

It marked the first Top 10 finish of her collegiate career. Kendra Mayers was the next Hornet to complete the course, finishing 16th at 21:28.85.
