CSU?s Sebescen Earns Academic Honor

Coppin State junior women's tennis player Nina Sebescen has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District women's at-large team.

 

Sebescen was named to the District II second team, which comprises universities and colleges in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

 

The announcement of the academic all-district teams were made by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday. Sebescen led the Eagles with four singles victories and four wins in doubles play as well. Additionally, she has been named the Coppin State Female Scholar Athlete of the Year for the past two years.

 

Sebescen is one of 23 student-athletes named to the first and second teams from the district. She currently has a 4.00 grade-point average in computer science.

 

The 10 members of the first team now move on to the national ballot where they will be considered for academic All-America honors.

 

To be eligible for consideration for all-academic honors, student-athletes must have reached sophomore class status and maintain at least a 3.20 grade-point average.
