Terrell Whitehead Named to Preseason All-America 1st Team
NORFOLK, Va. ? Norfolk State rising senior defensive back Terrell Whitehead (Virginia Beach, Va.) was named to the Consensus Draft Services (CDS) Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Preseason All-America First Team.
Whitehead, the Spartans’ free safety, led NSU and ranked seventh in the MEAC with 83 tackles as a junior last season. He had the second-most passes defended (15) of any MEAC player, tallying four interceptions and 11 pass deflections. His four picks give him 13 for his career and tied for third in the MEAC.
Whitehead is a two-time All-MEAC first-team selection, and has been named to The Sports Network’s FCS All-America third team each of the past two seasons.
Other MEAC players selected to the first team include South Carolina State running back Will Ford, Morgan State defensive tackle Justin Lawrence and Florida A&M cornerback Curtis Holcomb.
