VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - North Carolina A&T State’s Ryanne Hill earned MEAC Softball Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday. Simone Ceasar of Bethune-Cookman was named the Rookie of the Week while Amanda Reyes of Florida A&M was named the Pitcher of the Week.
Hill (OF, 5-8, So., Charlotte, NC) helped the Lady Aggies to five victories last week and aided N.C. A&T extend its win streak to eight games. Hill batted .526 for the week, hitting 10-for-19 from the plate, including one home run, two doubles and six RBI. She also added two walks and three stolen bases. Defensively she recorded seven putouts from outfield.
Ceasar (2B, 5-1, Fr., Clovis, Calif.) aided the Lady Wildcats to a 3-1 mark last week. She finished with a .500 hitting percentage with eight hits on 16 attempts. She posted one triple and six RBI along with two stolen bases. Ceasar also added six putouts and 10 assists from the second base position.
Reyes (P, 5-7, Jr., Scotts Valley, Calif.) picked up two wins and a save with victories over Winston-Salem State and Norfolk State last week. She pitched 22 innings, with an ERA of 1.27, and struck out 28 of the 86 batters faced. Against Norfolk State, Reyes pitched a seven-inning shut out and struck out a conference season high 11 batters while allowing just three hits.

Casey Beighly (DSU) hit .455 with one double and one RBI in a three-game stand against Maryland E. Shore.
Rachel Carroll (DSU) finished 3-for-7 with one triple, two doubles and three RBI in three conference meetings against Maryland E. Shore.
Allie Garcia (B-CU) struck out eight of the 27 batters faced against South Carolina State to pick up the win.
Tamra Griffin (MSU) tallied two home runs, one triple, two doubles and 11 RBI to help the Lady Bears finish 4-1 in conference play for the week.
Megan Johnson (MSU) threw 21 strikeouts for the week and tossed her 100th career strikeout in a win over Hampton.
Christina McCoy (HOW) pitched a shutout against Coppin State with six strikeouts in seven innings.
Hannah Mills (UMES) hit .714 in a doubleheader against Coppin State with one home run, two triples and RBI.
Melissa Oliphant (FAMU) hit .421 with one home run, one triple, and seven RBI in five games for the Lady Rattlers
Sasha Philpot (NCAT) pitched 12 innings for the week and picked up two wins over Winston-Salem State.
Meghan Ramsey (NSU) went 2-for-3 with and run and a RBI in the Spartans win over Bethune-Cookman.
Lydia Rodriguez (MSU) finished with one triple, four doubles and seven RBI in seven games for the Lady Bears last week.
Brittney Ruark (DSU) was 2-1 from the mound, striking out 17 batters in 15.2 innings for the Lady Hornets last week.
Kendra Saunders (UMES) hit a home run against Delaware State to give the Lady Hawks their first win over the Hornets in five years.
Mishayla Truttman (UMES) posted the win with an ERA of 0.00 against Coppin State, striking out seven batters and allowing just two runs.
Danielle Wright (NSU) finished perfect from the plate (2-for-2) with three runs, one home run and two RBI in a win over Bethune-Cookman.
Courtney Young (HOW) hit .714 in a pair of games against Coppin State last week.
