The 2009 MEAC Greek Step Show is schedule for Friday, March 13 beginning at 9:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum Annex in Winston-Salem, N.C.
“The MEAC Greek Step Show is a high-energy, family friendly event,” said Phil Fuller, Step Show Producer. “We are excited to bring the show to Winston-Salem and anticipate a strong showing this year since it is one of the most popular events and area traditions. Whether you are Greek or not, this event promises to be fun and memorable for all.”
National Pan-Hellenic fraternities and sororities from across the country will perform for MEAC students, alumni and fans. The winning fraternity or sorority will take home a $1000 prize.
Terrence J., co-host of BET’s 106 and Park, a popular music video countdown show, will serve as the celebrity host. Terrence J. is a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity and a 2004 graduate of North Carolina A&T State University. During his tenure at N.C. A&T State, Terrence J. served as the Student Government Association President and as a DJ for the school’s radio station.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet, online at ticketmaster.com or at the door the day of the event. Additional ancillary events including a Step Show after-party, the Miss MEAC Coronation, the Official MEAC Celebrity Explosion, the Old School Party featuring Tom Joyner and the annual Cheerleading Competition are also scheduled throughout the week.
The 2009 MEAC Basketball Tournament tips off Tuesday, March 10, and will conclude on Saturday, March 14, with the men’s and women’s championship games. Tickets for the tournament are on sale now at www.MEAChoops.com, through Ticketmaster outlets nationwide, at MEAC school box offices and at the LJVM Coliseum.
