The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) completed the second day of the 2009 MEAC Bowling Championship at the Gate City Lanes in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Delaware State, the MEAC northern division champions, upset the defending NCAA National Champion and top seeded Lady Hawks of Maryland Eastern Shore to advance to tomorrow’s championship match.
The Lady Hornets defeated Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M and Maryland Eastern Shore en route to their second straight championship appearance. The Lady Hornets, who earned the second seed, will face the winner of the Maryland Eastern Shore/ Florida A&M semifinal match up.
Sixth seeded Florida A&M battled the Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats, who were the fifth seed. Tied at three-all the Lady Rattlers won the seventh and deciding game to advance to tomorrow’s semifinal at 9:50 a.m.
The MEAC Bowling Championship final is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 22
The championship wraps up on Sunday at 9:50 a.m. beginning with the semifinal round and concluding with the championship final at 11:45 a.m. The match will be televised in a tape-delayed format and will air on ESPNU on April 2.
Admission to the bowling championship is free and open to the public.
