Bethune-Cookman Sneaks By Lady Rams Basketball, 54-50
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ? Vontisha Woods’ 15 points and career-high 19 rebounds were not enough on Monday evening as the Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats handed the Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State a 54-50 defeat at the Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C. in MEAC women’s basketball action.
Woods led two WSSU players in double-figures as Rene Rector added 11 points and four rebounds in a losing effort as Winston-Salem State saw their two-game win streak snapped en route to falling to 5-23 on the season..
Leading the way for the Lady Wildcats, Demetria Frank recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds as she led three B-CU players in double figures. Joining Frank in double-digits were Eunisha Proctor and Sarah Bolden who each added 11 points in the victory.
The loss drops WSSU to 5-23 on the season while Bethune-Cookman improves to 12-15 overall (4-11 MEAC) with the victory.

SC State Women Snap 8-Game Slide
ORANGEBURG, SC ? Seniors Marie Reed and Jenell Moore, in their last home appearance, combined for 43 points and 18 rebounds as South Carolina State snapped an eight-game losing streak with an 82-75 win over the Florida A&M women Monday at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
The 6-4 Reid poured in 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Moore, 6-2 contributed 19 points and a game-high 10 boards in the victory, only the sixth of the campaign for the Lady Bulldogs and first-year head coach Doug Robertson.
The visiting Lady Rattlers were led by Deidra Jones with 20 points and seven rebounds. Antonia Bennett added 14 points, and Stephanie Foster chipped in 12. Melissa Daniels led FAMU on the boards with nine, to go along with eight points.
The Lady Rattlers, losers in eight of their last nine contests, dropped to 11-16 and 6-9 in the league.

AGGIES WORK OVERTIME TO BEAT PIRATES ON SENIOR NIGHT
GREENSBORO, N.C.,- Lamona Smalley scored six of her 11 points in overtime to lift North Carolina A&T (21-6, 14-1 MEAC) to an 81-72 victory over Hampton in the Corbett Sports Center on Senior Night.
Brittanie Taylor-James led the Aggies with 31 points in her final home game, as she joined fellow senior teammates Amber Bland and Ahmad Williams in the starting lineup.
Sharella Leslie led Hampton (13-14, 9-6) with 16 points, while Quanneisha Perry added 10 points and a game high 18 rebounds.

Accurate Shooting Leads Howard Past Norfolk State, 72-54
NORFOLK, Va. -Howard was 26-of-52 (50 percent) from the field for the game, including 7-of-15 (46.7 percent) from
3-point range to post a 72-54 MEAC win over Norfolk State on Monday night at Echols Hall.
Howard’s Tamaya Daniels led all scorers with 25 points and had seven rebounds, while Brown added 21 points and three assists. Day had 10 points and three boards.
Raychele Payne led the Spartans with 18 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the field (3-of-11 from 3-point range). Evans was the only other Spartan in double figures with 10 points.
