Sandidge Leads Hornets Past Hens in First State Rivalry
DOVER, Del. - Senior Frisco Sandidge led three players in double figures with a career-high 26 points in Delaware State's 75-67 win over the Delaware Blue Hens in Memorial Hall Tuesday evening.
The Hornets won their second straight to improve to improve to 4-1 on the season, while Delaware dropped its third in a row to fall to 1-5.
The Hornets also snapped an eight-game losing streak against the Hens. Delaware had won each meeting since Delaware State prevailed in the first contest between the schools in 1991.
Sandidge was seven-for-13 from the field, and 12-of-16 at the free throw line. His previous DSU high was 21 points in three games.

Wildcats Win at Florida Gulf Coast
Fort Myers, Fla. - Freshman guard Kevin Dukes hit four straight 3-pointers keying a 23-9 B-CU run in the second half lifting the Wildcats to their third consecutive win on the road, 67-59 at Florida Gulf Coast University Tuesday night. Dukes scored a career-high 16 points, Stanley Elliott scored 13 points and Alexander Starling 10 to lead the B-CU scorers.
Red-hot second half shooting by the Wildcats in the second half (10-17 - .589%).led to the victory. Bethune-Cookman is now 4-3 heading into Saturday's MEAC opener vs. FAMU at the Ocean Center, 4 p.m.
B-CU limited the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles to two field goals in the opening eight minutes with Stanley Elliott scoring six points (3-3 field goals) to give the Wildcats an early 12-8 lead with 11:49 to play.
Freshman guard Aric Miller in his first collegiate start for B-CU, played 10 minutes in the first half and helped a defensive effort limiting FGCU to only seven first half field goals.

FAMU Men's Basketball Crew Falls to Florida Gators
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The FAMU Men's Basketball team turned in a strong first half against the University of Florida, before falling to the Gators, 80-59 at the Stephen O'Connell Center here Tuesday night.
FAMU (0-8) was led by junior Christopher Walker with 19 points, followed by eight points each from sophomores Yannick Crowder and Dale Hughes, plus freshman Amin Stevens. Crowder led with seven rebounds and Walker finished with six boards.
Florida (7-0) remained unbeaten thanks to the quartet of double digit scorers led by Dan Werner with 16 points, including four three-pointers, plus nine rebounds. Alex tyus had 15 points, while Vernon Macklin had 14 points and seven rebounds. Erving Walker finished with 10 points.
The Rattlers played valiantly in the first half, outshooting the Gators, 48.3 to 45.5 from the floor, staging a torrid 17-4 surge to cut a 30-16 UF lead with 7:36 left, to 34-33 on Brandon Bryant's foul shot with 56 seconds left.
Dan Werner's triple with 41 seconds left, pushed the Gators' edge to 37-33 at the break.
