Lady Rattlers Rally Past Crimson Tide, 61-52

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Dec. 16) -Florida A&M scored their second victory against a Southeastern Conference opponent this season, rallying past the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, 61-52 in the Alfred Lawson Center Wednesday night.

FAMU (6-3) had beaten the University of Florida, 72-71 in Gaineville on Dec. 1, while suffering losses to Auburn and Kentucky.

The homestanding Lady Rattlers were led by sophomore Tameka McKelton with a game-high 20 points, including four three-pointers. Junior Christian Rateree had 11 points, cashing in a pair of triples, while
sophomore Qiana Donald turned in a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.

Alabama (6-5) was led by Dedrea Magee with 10 points, followed by Tamara Williams with eight points and seven points apiece by Varisia Raffington and LaToya King. Williams led the Crimson Tide Wednesday with nine rebounds.

Georgia State Too Much For Lady Hornets

Dover, Del.- Danyiell McKeller scored a career-high 26 points to lead Georgia State to a 66-42 win over Delaware State in women's college basketball at Memorial Hall Wednesday evening. The Panthers won their fifth in a row to improve to 6-1 on the season, while the Lady Hornets dropped their seventh straight to fall to 1-7.

McKeller was 11-for-18 from the field and four-of-five at the free throw line. She also led all players with five steals. Angelique Burtts had 12 points, while Crystal Johnson added 11 for Georgia State. The Panthers were 28-for-49 from the field (57.1%), including two-of-three from three-point territory. Shay Rawls had a game-high nine rebounds for GSU.

Cortney Crockett was the only Delaware State player in double figures with 14 points. Sade Bowen led the team with eight rebounds, while freshman Kianna D'Oliveira had a career-high four blocks for the Lady Hornets.
