Lady Rattler Cagers Fall Hard At Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky (Dec. 13) -Florida A&M went cold in the second half Sunday, scoring just 10 points in a 91-39 loss to the University of Kentucky at Memorial Coliseum.

FAMU (5-5) had a two-game winning streak snapped as they committed 28 turnovers and shot just 24.2 percent (15 of 62) from the floor, while Kentucky (9-0) remained unbeaten after shooting 50 percent (30 of 60) from the floor overall and 45 percent (9 of 20) from three-point range.

Sophomore Antonia Bennett led FAMU with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore Tameka McKelton added 11 points and six rebounds.

Lady Rams Fall to Elon, 71-59

WINSTON-SALEM, NC -Winston-Salem State (2-7) played a hard 40 minutes, but came up short in a 71-59 loss to the Elon Phoenix (3-5), Sunday afternoon.

The loss came at no shortage of effort by the Lady Rams, who forced 31 Elon turnovers in the game. The game's tempo was a fast one with the two teams combining for 106 shots.

However, the Lady Rams fell short in the effort, shooting just 36.7% from the field while Elon finished shooting 50.0% from the field.

WSSU junior forward Vontisha Woods led the way for the Lady Rams a game-high 23 points and a team-high eight rebounds. She finished one-point shy of her career-high 24 points. Sophomore forward Jillian Charlet contributed nine points and a career-high two blocked shots.
