MEAC Tournament Ticket Books to Go On Sale Starting Nov. 9

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced today that ticket books will go on sale beginning Monday, November 9, for the 2010 Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament scheduled for March 8-13 at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

For a limited time, fans who purchase tickets from Nov. 9 - 20 can receive a discount of 25% off the original ticket price as a part of the MEAC's Fast Break Special.  Fast Break ticket books can only be purchased at Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com or by calling the MEAC Administrative offices at (757) 416-7100. 

"We are eager and excited to return to Joel Coliseum and the City of Winston-Salem for the Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament and are thrilled to provide our fans with a reduced ticket price for purchasing ticket books early," said MEAC Commissioner Dennis Thomas.  "We hope our alumni and fans take advantage of this offer as we galvanize the fan bases and students for a competitive and entertaining tournament."

Each ticket book provides entrance for one (1) person to attend all 20 MEAC men's and women's games including the championship final slated for Saturday, March 13 with the men's game starting at 2 p.m. followed by the women's game beginning at 5 p.m.

Ticket books can be purchased at all 12 MEAC university ticket offices, Joel Coliseum Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets, the MEAC Administrative Office and online at Ticketmaster.com.  Tickets are also available by calling the MEAC at 757-416-7100 or Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. 

Fans interested in sitting within their university's fan block are encouraged to contact their institution's ticket office directly. 

The annual MEAC Basketball Tournament moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina last year and will continue to call the city home through 2011.  The North Carolina A&T women's and the Morgan State men's basketball teams earned the tournament crowns last year and are a favorite to win this year's titles.

About the MEAC Basketball Tournament

The MEAC Basketball Tournament is a single elimination championship playoff that involves Division I historically black colleges and universities located across the Atlantic coastline: Bethune-Cookman, Coppin State, Delaware State, Florida A&M, Hampton, Howard, Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State, Norfolk State, North Carolina A&T State, South Carolina State, and Winston-Salem State.

The tournament is played at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.  Both the men's and women's champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
