University of Maryland Eastern Shore sophomore Paula Vilas was named the MEAC Bowling Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Vilas (5-9, So., Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) averaged a 203 on 1,015 pinfall, including a game-high 242 in a lost to #2 Vanderbilt at the UMES Hawk Invite. She earned the Tournament MVP honor and was the only bowler to knock down 1,000-plus pins and averaged over 200. As a team, the Lady Hawks earned a third-place finish.
