ESPNU To Broadcast MEAC Volleyball Championship Final

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced today that the 2009 MEAC Volleyball Championship will be televised on ESPNU for the first time ever. The match is scheduled for Noon at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Md. and will air on the college sports network in a tape-delayed broadcast at 10 p.m.

The nationally televised contest is a part of the MEAC's seven-year partnership with ESPN.

The 2009 MEAC Volleyball Championship begins on Friday, November 20 through Sunday, November 22 at the  Coppin Center on the campus of Coppin University in Baltimore, Maryland.

The MEAC southern divisional preseason favorite Florida A&M Lady Rattlers have won eight consecutive MEAC titles. FAMU is currently 6-0 in MEAC play and 12-8 overall. Maryland Eastern Shore, the preseason choice in the north, clinched their third consecutive northern divisional title and are currently 8-0 in conference play and 19-6 overall.

The championship bracket and seedings for the tournament will be announced at a later date.
