MEAC WEEKLY VOLLEYBALL HONORS

Maryland Eastern Shore sophomore Christine Edwards was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the week, the conference announced on Monday. Teammate Bella Jade Romero earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

Edwards (OH, 5-10, So., Lakewood, California) helped extend the Lady Hawks' win streak to 13 matches with a non-conference win over North Carolina Central.  Edwards hit 42-percent from the floor with 12 kills on 24 attacks. She added one dig and one ace in the victory.

Romero (S, 5-6, Fr., Arlington, Texas) tallied 22 assists, five digs and one ace in the Lady Hawks win over North Carolina Central.  

Other Top Performers:

Jovana Blazeski (FAMU) posted 18 kills, three digs, one ace and one block in a 3-0 sweep of Norfolk State.

Jarne Gleaton
(SCSU) recorded a career high seven blocks (five solo) in a loss to The Citadel.

Jade Sandford (SCSU) hit 36-percent from the floor with six kills and two blocks in a loss to South Carolina.
