Morgan State freshman Justus David and Maryland Eastern Shore junior Eunice Jones were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Cross Country Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
David (Fr., Kitui, Kenya) captured the title at the Delaware Blue & Gold Invitational with a time of 25:38.33. His time on the 8K course aided the Bears to a ninth place finish out of 12 teams. This is the third time this season that David has earned Athlete of the Week honors.
Jones (Jr., Lanham, Maryland) paced the Lady Hawks in 19:24.64 at the Delaware Blue & Gold Invitational. Jones' time is among the top ten MEAC times on a 5K course this season. As a team, UMES finished sixth out of 14 competing teams.

Jasmin Branch (Ham) led the Lady Pirates at the William & Mary Tribe Open with a time of 23:09.58.
Ashley Hodges (How) had a top-20 finish in 19:50.91 at the Delaware Blue & Gold Invitational.
David Kimani (Ham) paced the Pirates with a time of 27:01.87 at the William & Mary Tribe Open.
Amon Kiprotich (UMES) guided the Hawks to a sixth place team finish in 26:50.63 at the Delaware Blue & Gold Invitational.
Jasmine Savage (MSU) was the top finisher for the Lady Bears with a time of 21:17.19 at the Blue & Gold Invitational.
Aurora Scott (NSU) finished fourth on the 6K course in 22:17.21 at the William & Mary Tribe Open.
