Lady Bears Finish 12th at Blue & Gold Invitational

The Morgan State women's cross country team spent and rainy and muddy Saturday morning competing in the Blue & Gold Invitational 5k meet held at White Clay Creek State Park, hosted by the University of Delaware.

Jasmine Savage was the Lady Bears top finisher with a time of 21:17.19 and Ashlee Nievess placed 66th overall in a time of 21:26.34 to help Morgan State to a 12th-place finish with 343 points out of 14 teams.

Priscilla Jennings of Millersville won the individual title in a time of 17:51.53. The University of Delaware captured the team title with 46 points. George Mason came in second with 65 points, followed by Towson (70), Millersville (109) and American (155) to round out the top five.

Morgan State will now prepare for the MEAC Cross Country Championship on Oct. 31, hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Md.
