MEAC Announces Bowling Weekly Honors

University of Maryland Eastern Shore sophomore Maria Rodriguez was named the MEAC Bowling Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

 

Rodriguez (5-7, So., Ibague Tolima, Colombia) was named the tournament MVP and guided her team to a 9-2 record and first place finish at the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Bowie State.  She averaged a 240.1 on 1,441 total pinfall, including a career-best 279 in a win over Bowie State. Rodriguez posted five 200-plus games out of six games played to lead the entire field of competitors. This is second time this season that Rodriguez has earned Athlete of the Week honors.

Angela Reynolds
(DSU) earned all-tournament honors and knocked down 1,274 pins (212.3 average) at the Bulldog Invitational.

 

Sheila-Marie Smith (NSU) averaged a 207.7 (1,246 pinfall), including a personal-best 280, in a win over Lincoln.
