Hornets Third At Bowie State Bowling Tournament

Delaware State bowling team came away with a third-place finish at the Bowie State University Bulldog Invitational last weekend. The Hornets posted an 11-3 record during the tournament, including a 5-0 mark in Baker scoring contests on Sunday.

 

Delaware State split six regular team games on Saturday. The highlight of the tournament was a team-record 1103 pinfall vs. Sacred Heart (1103-955) on Saturday. DSU’s five bowlers averaged 220.6. Sophomore Angela Reynolds led the way with a career-best 270.

 

Jazmyne Hefflefinger rolled 240, while Kalyn Washburn had 215. Reynolds, who also scored 258 vs. Morgan State, was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 212 in six games (1274 total pins).

 

DSU’s Adriana Jaime rolled 256 vs. New Jersey City, Brooke Peterson scored 253 vs. Hampton, each a career-high.

 

In Sunday’s Baker matches, the Hornets won each of their five matches by an average of 191 pins per contest.
