Lady Pirates Fall to FAMU, 68-59

Sophomore forward Quanneisha Perry and senior Chinyere Ukoh both had 14 points, but it was not enough to beat the Florida A&M Lady Rattlers, who won 68-59 on Monday in Gaither Gymnasium.

Perry played for 15 minutes and had eight rebounds to accompany the 14 points, one block and two steals. Ukoh played a total of 27 minutes off the bench and contributed seven rebounds and one steal.

Whitney Hill had 12 points and with her continuous explosive defense skills, she was able to collect four steals and four rebounds.

Hometown favorite Melanie Warner had five points and a steal, as she captured 14 minutes of playing time.

FAMU (7-6, 3-0 MEAC) was lead by freshman Temka McKelton with 21 points. Deidra Jones had 20 points in the win.

Hampton (4-9, 2-1 MEAC) will be back in action at home against the Bulldogs of South Carolina State on Saturday.
