North Carolina A&T State University’s Brittanie Taylor-James was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Delaware State University’s Sonia Johnson earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Coppin State’s Whitney Cunningham earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Taylor-James (Guard, 6-0, Sr., Evanston, Illinois) averaged 22 points, seven rebounds and two steals in two victories for the Lady Aggies. She recorded 19 points, 6-of-18 from the field, with seven rebounds in an 87-80 victory over Charlotte. The guard followed that performance with 25 points, connecting on 8-of-16 baskets, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc to aid the Lady Aggies in a conference victory over Morgan State. She also posted eight rebounds and tallied two steals and one assist in the win.
Johnson (Forward, 5-9, Fr., Newport News, Virginia) averaged 16 points and 7.5 rebounds to help the Lady Hornets win two conference victories last week. Against Maryland Eastern Shore Johnson led all players with a career-high 22 points and nine rebounds. She followed that performance with 10 points, connecting on 4-of-8 baskets, with six rebounds, two assists, and one steal in a 62-49 victory over South Carolina State.
Cunningham (Center, 6-3, Sr., Baltimore, Maryland) recorded 15 rebounds and two blocked shots in the Lady Eagles 77-42 win over Norfolk State. She aided the Lady Eagles as they held the Spartans to 17 first-half points and out-rebounded Norfolk State 57-32. Offensively she added 13 points, for her fourth double-double of the season.

Amber Cook (UMES) tallied 12 points, six rebounds and three steals in two games for the Lady Hawks.
Shante Cummings (CSU) scored a career-high 17 points, six rebounds and five steals in the Lady Eagles 77-42 victory over Norfolk State.
Natalie Day (HOW) recorded a career-high 20 points in a loss to Bucknell.
Deidra Jones (FAMU) posted 15 points and five assists in a 69-53 win over Howard.
Lonice Kenley (HOW) tallied a career-high 17 points, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range in a loss to Florida A&M.
April McBride (UMES) recorded a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds against Winston-Salem State.
Tameka McKelton (FAMU) came off the bench and tallied a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds in a 69-53 win over Howard.
Quanneisha Perry (HAM) recorded her first double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds against Bethune-Cookman.
Marie Reid (SCSU) recorded 30 points and six rebounds in a 90-80 loss to USC-Upstate.
Tiffany Reid (UMES) scored a season-high 19 points and four rebounds in a 75-58 win over Winston-Salem State.
Tierra Thomas (NCAT) shot 3-of-6 from the field with eight points and four rebounds in the Lady Aggies win over Charlotte.
Chinyere Ukoh (HAM) averaged 12.5 points and nine rebounds to help the Lady Pirates to a 1-1 mark last week.
