Delaware State University senior Mallory Ross is off to a strong start to the 2008 cross country season. Ross was the only Hornet runner in the Top 70, finishing 18th in the Towson University Baltimore Metro at Oregon Ridge Park Friday afternoon.
Delaware State was eighth in the team standings with 232 points. Johns Hopkins was the top team with 44 points. Ross completed the 5,000-meter course in 19-minutes-39 seconds.
Katie Radzik was the individual winner with a time of 18:03. Nykesha Sowell was the next Delaware State runner to cross the finish line, coming in 75th place with a time of 22:49.
