The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (0-4) had a great outing, but fell short against the Navy Midshipmen (4-0), Friday afternoon. Despite taking the loss, the Lady Rams had one of their best outings of the season falling to the Midshipmen, 25-17, 25-11, and 25-16. The team scored a season high in points scored in the match.
The Lady Rams set a number of team season highs including total kills (18) and attack percentage (.052). The team was especially strong in the middle with junior middle blocker Georgette Allen leading the way for the Lady Rams with five kills and three total blocks (two solo) in the match. Fellow junior Lore McBroom coordinated the WSSU attack with 11 assists in the match.
The Lady Rams won’t have long to relax as the team will take on Charleston Southern in a noon match before facing host Gardner-Webb in a 5:00 p.m. match tomorrow afternoon.
