University of Maryland Eastern Shore senior Christina Estebane’ was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Teammate Christina Edwards earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Estebane’ (S, 5-6, Sr., El Paso, Texas) tallied 23 aces, 31 digs and 14 kills at the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams Invitational. The setter earned all-tournament honors after posting 141 assists in 15 sets played. As a team, the Lady Hawks won the tournament with a 6-0 mark. This is Estebane’s fourth Player of the Week honor this season.
Edwards (OH, 5-10, Fr., Lakewood, California) was named the Most Valuable Player at the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams Invitational. Edwards hit 46-percent from the floor and averaged 10.5 kills and 4.3 digs per set. The outside hitter recorded a career-high 60-percent attack percentage in a 3-0 win over Savannah State and followed with a career-high five blocks in a 3-0 non-conference win against Winston-Salem State. This is Edwards’ second Rookie of the Week honor this season.

Mianna Armstrong (HAM) helped her team to a 2-2 mark at the North Carolina Central Tournament with 46 kills and 24 digs.
Dina Beamon (MSU) posted 14 digs against Maryland Baltimore County.
Ivanti Bush (MSU) recorded a team-high 10 kills and added five digs in a loss to Maryland Baltimore County.
Aaryn Harrison (HAM) was named to the North Carolina Central All-Tournament team after posting 64 kills, 17 digs and seven aces in four matches.
Cassandra Joyner (DSU) was named the tournament MVP after tallying 36 kills, six blocks and 20 digs at the Delaware State Invite.
Elisha Herman (DSU) averaged 9.4 kills and 3.7 digs in three sets for the Lady Hornets last week.
