University of Maryland Eastern Shore senior Christina Estebane’ was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Howard University freshman Gabrielle Martin earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Estebane’ (S, 5-6, Sr., El Paso, Texas) averaged 36 assists and 14.6 digs to aid her team to a 1-2 mark at the Ramada Invitational, hosted by Buffalo. Estebane’ posted 15 kills on 53 attacks and hit 26-percent from the field, with one error. The setter tallied double-doubles in all three matches and earned all-tournament accolades. This is Estebane’s second Player of the Week honor this season.
Martin (MB, 5-11, Fr., Stockton, California) posted 60 kills and 37 digs in four sets during the Robert Morris Tournament last week. The outside hitter collected two double-doubles including 13 kills and 12 digs in a 3-1 victory over Elon. She followed that performance with a career-high 25 kills and 13 digs in a 3-2 loss to Saint Peter’s.

Breanna Allums (NSU) totaled 17 kills and 18 digs and was named to the Hilton/RTP North Carolina State Classic All-Tournament team.
Gazelle D’Artois (HOW) tallied two 20-plus kill and dig performances to help the Bison to a 1-3 mark at the Robert Morris Tournament.
Christine Edwards (UMES) posted a double-double of 15 kills and 11 digs in a 3-2 loss to Butler.
Martina Ferrari (DSU) recorded 22 assists and 17 digs in two sets last week at the George Washington Invitational.
Lauren Harris (SCSU) tallied two double-digit dig performances for the Lady Bulldogs last week.
Aaryn Harrison (HAM) earned all-tournament honors at the Northern Arizona Fiesta Bowl after posting 39 kills and 21 digs in four sets for the Lady Pirates.
Cassandra Joyner (DSU) averaged a hitting percentage of .234 (19-of-47) in two sets for the Lady Hornets.
Gislea Kloss (SCSU) averaged eight kills and five digs and was named to the Texas-Arlington All-Tournament team.
