MEAC PROMOTES RAYNOID DEDEAUX

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced that Raynoid Dedeaux has been promoted to the Director of Championships position. Dedeaux previously served in the capacity on an interim basis.

“I am very pleased that Mr. Dedeaux has been named Director of Championships,” said Commissioner Dennis Thomas. “He brings experience and expertise to this position and I know that he will continue to do a great job.”

A native of Delisle, Mississippi, Dedeaux will continue to oversee the planning, organization, and administration of all MEAC championships. His responsibilities also include the overseeing of conference schedules and serving as the leagues’ liaison to head coaches for assigned sports.

Prior to his appointment, Dedeaux was the Assistant Director of Championships and Compliance at the conference office.

Dedeaux joined the MEAC after serving a one year stint as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Coppin State University. In addition to monitoring compliance activities for all 14 sports, he provided administrative and academic support for the athletic department.

In 2004, he served as an intern in the MEAC office. In this post he managed a variety of tasks including ticket and vendor operations for the 2005 MEAC Basketball Tournament in Richmond, Virginia.

Dedeaux began his career in sports at Blackburn Middle School (2003) where he served as a Physical Education teacher. He also served as an assistant coach for football and track & field.

Dedeaux earned a bachelor’s degree in Education in 2002 and a master’s degree in Secondary Education from Alcorn State in 2003 where he also lettered in football for three seasons.

Dedeaux had served on the
NCAA Division I Championships/Competition Cabinet Committee and is currently a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).

He is single and currently resides in Chesapeake, Virginia.
