UMES' Bowling Team Headed to the White House

Maryland Eastern Shore's National Championship Women's Bowling Team reaps one of the many honors for winning the title today, when they travel to The White House to meet with President George W. Bush and be honored for their accomplishments at NCAA Champions Day.

"This is so exciting," said Head Coach Sharon Brummell.  "To win the NCAA Championship and then to be included in this event where our President and country honor what we have done, it is just amazing."

The  team,  spread  out  literally  across  the  world  for  the summer,  will  all  converge  today  in Arlington, Va. before boarding a UMES shuttle and heading into The White House.  They will be
greeted  by  a  White  House  staffer,  given  a  tour  of  the facility,  have  a  meet  and  greet  with President Bush where a team photo will be taken and then be escorted to the South Lawn.  There the team, along with 19 other NCAA Division I Champions from the past school year, will hear remarks from President Bush.
