Morgan State third baseman Tamara Griffin earned MEAC Softball Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday. Teammates Ryanne Hill and Jennifer Luper of North Carolina A&T State earned Rookie of the Week and Pitcher of the Week honors, respectively.
Griffin (3B, 5-5, Fr., Portsmouth, Va.) batted a blistering .800 from the plate, totaling three doubles, three runs and five RBI in back-to-back victories over Maryland E. Shore. In game one of the doubleheader, Griffin posted two hits, both doubles, and drove in a season best three RBI. She followed that performance by going 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBI.
Hill (LF, 5-8, Fr., Charlotte, NC) finished with a .524 batting average in six games last week for the Lady Aggies. She finished 11-for-21 at the plate with two home runs, two triples, one double and eight RBI. Against Savannah State, she recorded five hits with two home runs, one triple and four RBI. She also posted a stolen base and seven putouts.
Luper (P, 5-6, Fr., Fort Mill, SC) finished with a 1.22 ERA with four wins last week for the Lady Aggies. She pitched a shutout against Savannah State, striking out 13 of the 19 batters, in six innings of play. For the week, Luper faced 88 batters in 23 innings, struck out 22, and gave up only three walks and four earned runs.

Cassandra Carlos (UMES) recorded a .300 batting average with three assists and nine putouts for the Lady Hawks.
Jessica Chrabaszcz (DSU) went 9-for-12 (.750) with three doubles and five RBI in four games for the Lady Hornets.
Brianeisha Eure (NSU) tallied 10 hits in 19 at-bats to finish with a .526 batting average in five games of play for the Spartans.
Allison Garcia (BCU) batted .550 with three triples and five RBI. She picked up three wins in her pitching role while striking out 17 batters in 22 innings to finish with a 1.27 ERA.
Marielle Garcia (UMES) pitched two complete games and compiled a 2.69 ERA while facing 67 batters in 13 innings.
Megan Lambertz (DSU) collected 12 strikeouts in five innings to pick up the win over Coppin State.
Melissa Oliphant (FAMU) pitched seven innings with no earned runs to pick up the 5-2 win over North Carolina A&T
Micki Rodriguez (NSU) finished 1-of-1 with a 0.64 ERA for the Spartans including 11 strikeouts in 11 innings.
Jeanette Sauceda (NSU) aided the Spartans to a 3-2 finishing while averaging .368 at the plate in five games including one triple, one double and one RBI.
Chaola Simmons (NCAT) recorded an inside-the-park home run, nine runs scored and nine RBI in six games last week for the Lady Aggies.
Mishayla Truttman (UMES) batted .429 in three games last week for the Lady Hawks.
