The NCAA Women’s Bowling Committee announced today that Maryland Eastern Shore was selected among the eight-team field that will compete for the 2008 NCAA Bowling Championship.
Maryland Eastern Shore, the second ranked team in the nation, will make its fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Bowling Championship. The Lady Hawks advanced to the finals of last year’s national championship, before falling to Vanderbilt 4-3.
The 2008 MEAC Bowling Champion, Lady Hawks are 113-23 overall.
Bethune-Cookman (2005, 2006) is the only active MEAC school who has earned an at-large selection to the NCAA Women’s Bowling Championship.
Winston-Salem State, who is not eligible to compete in conference play, was chosen as an at-large selection in the inaugural NCAA Bowling Championship in 2004.
The NCAA Bowling Championship will take place on April 10-12, 2008 at the Thunder Alley in Omaha, Nebraska.
The field includes the following teams, all selected at large:

University of Central Missouri
University of Maryland Eastern Shore
Minnesota State University, Mankato
University of Nebraska, Lincoln
New Jersey City University
Sacred Heart University
Vanderbilt University
