2008 MEAC BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP-DAY TWO

 The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) completed the second day of the 2008 MEAC Bowling Championship at Sparetimes in Hampton, Va. Defending MEAC Champion, Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) advanced and will face the winner of the Norfolk State/Delaware State match in the championship final.

The MEAC Bowling Championship final is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 23 and will be televised in a tape-delayed format. The broadcast will air on April 3 on ESPNU.

Top seeded Maryland Eastern Shore will compete for the third straight championship crown and fourth overall. The Lady Hawks topped North Carolina A&T, Morgan State and Norfolk State in the best of seven matches during baker play to advance to the championship round.

Delaware State, the second seed, dropped its first match to number seven seed Norfolk State. The Lady Hornets battled back throughout the double-elimination bracket with wins over Florida A&M, Morgan State and North Carolina A&T to reach the semifinal game.

After upsetting Delaware State, the Spartans topped Hampton in a round two of the bowling championship. Their lone lost of the day was against UMES.

The MEAC Bowling Championship wraps up on Sunday, March 23 at 9:30 a.m. beginning with the semifinal round and concluding with the championship final. Admission is free and open to the public.
