North Carolina A&T’s Ta’Wuana Cook was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Morgan State’s Theresa Davis earned Rookie of the Week honors, while teammate Corin Adams earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Cook (Guard, 5-8, So., Fayetteville, North Carolina) averaged 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 3.0 steals to extend the Lady Aggies win streak to 11 games, including an 11-0 mark in MEAC play. Cook scored a career-high 28 points and added five assists and two blocks in a dominating 105-79 win over Maryland Eastern Shore. It was the fourth time in seven games that Cook has recorded 20 or more points.
Davis (Forward, 5-10, Fr., St. Louis, Missouri) averaged 8.3 points and 11 rebounds to help Morgan State to a 3-0 mark last week. Davis shot 62 percent, on 10-of-16 from the floor, and recorded 25 points and 33 rebounds for the week. She posted a career-high 14 rebounds in a non-conference game against the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Davis finished the week with nine points and a game-high 10 rebounds against Florida A&M.
Adams (Guard, 5-5, So., Brooklyn, New York) recorded 14 rebounds (11 defensive) and nine steals in the Lady Bears three victories last week. Against South Carolina State, Adams posted a game-high six steals and blocked one shot. In a win over Florida A&M, she moved into sixth place in the Morgan State record book after notching her 168th steal.

Whitney Cunningham (CSU) scored a career-high 19 points in the Lady Eagles 85-44 non-conference win over Winston-Salem State.
Tamaya Daniels (How) came off the bench in two games last week and led the Lady Bison in points (18 and 21) while shooting 76-percent from the field.
Tiffany Gadsden (NSU) recorded a game-high five blocks against Delaware State.
Joslyne Jackson (FAMU) scored 20 points for the fourth time this season in a 55-51 loss to Morgan State.
April McBride (UMES) recorded a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds in a loss to North Carolina A&T.
Jalessa Sams (NCAT) scored her first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds off the Lady Aggies bench in a win over Maryland Eastern Shore.
Lamona Smalley (NCAT) was 12-of-17 from the field (70.6 percent) and tallied 26 points and 14 rebounds in two victories for the Lady Aggies.
Keyhana Wakefield (DSU) posted 22 points and nine rebounds in two conference contests last week.
