MEAC ANNOUNCES WOMEN'S BASKETBALL HONORS

Morgan State University’s Brittany Dodson was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Teammate Allison Lester earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Bethune-Cookman’s Cleniece Roberts earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

 

Dodson (Guard, 5-5, So., St. Louis, Missouri) came off the bench and tied a career-high with 19 points on 6-of-11 from the floor, including a career-high five 3-pointers in an 81-54 win over Fayetteville State. Dodson added three rebounds, one assist and a steal to extend the Lady Bears’ win streak to five.

 

Lester (Forward/Center, 6-3, Fr., Phoenix, Arizona) scored eight points on 4-of-7 from the floor and added three rebounds in an 81-54 non-conference win over Fayetteville State. Lester recorded a game-high four blocks in 12 minutes of play.

 

Roberts (Forward, 6-0, So., Miami, Florida) led her team with 10 rebounds in a 75-52 win over Paine College. Roberts also tallied two steals and two blocks in the victory. Offensively, she added 14 points for her first double-double of the year.

Corin Adams (MSU) scored a game-high 22 points and four steals in a win over Fayetteville State.

 

Cortney Crockett (DSU) came off the bench to lead the Lady Hornets with 14 points (7-of-10) in a 46-35 non-conference victory over Fairleigh Dickinson.

 

Stephanie Foster (FAMU) scored 21 points, four rebounds and two steals in a loss to Florida.

Jameka Smith (DSU) grabbed six rebounds along with four steals in a 46-35 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson.
